The state was colonized for thousands of years before Europeans reached the country and it quickly became one of the largest cotton producing states in the US. With such a rich history, the state is truly beautiful with several natural and man-made attractions distributed all over the state.
Arizona
Thinking of Arizona stirs up views of marvelous land formations like red canyons, cactus deserts, and mountains as well as man-made attractions like engineering marvels, esteemed museums, vibrant cities and historic settlements. Since its admission to the Union as the 48th state, Arizona has been a popular tourist destination, and with world-famous attractions like the Grand Canyon, the Hoover Dam and Saguaro National Park, that is not surprising.
California
With so many man-made attractions, natural playgrounds and dramatic landscapes that are all world-famous, it is no wonder that California attracts millions of visitors from all over the globe. Only in this state can one experience the likes of stunning coastal drives, a forest of the world’s tallest trees, a lake that offers year-round fun, magical theme parks and shows starring killer whales.
California, the golden state, offers some of the most beautiful and spectacular sights and places to visit.
Delaware
Delaware packs plenty of attractions into just 1,900 square miles of land. The most populous cities, including Wilmington and Brandywine, are at the north end of the state, while Sussex County on the Delmara peninsula is where the best beaches are found.
Georgia
Southern comforts and Georgian charm go together like mashed potatoes and gravy. Things might move a little slower in Georgia, from the way people talk, walk, and cook; that doesn’t mean you’ll ever be bored, however. Georgia has lots of great things to do, outside of sampling the South’s best servings of soul food. Visit Atlanta for some great city sights, as well as historic museums, zoos, and the world’s largest aquarium. If you’re looking to escape the urban setting for a while, go to the Cumberland Island reservation. They have wild horses that run free along the island’s coasts like a scene out of a romantic novel. Georgia has an additional 47 state parks to explore, if you’re looking for more great places to view wildlife in its natural habitat. If you’re a history buff, you’ll find plenty of Civil War monuments, museums, and memorials.

Illinois, Land of Lincoln or The Prairie State, is popular and famous for many reasons. The state has some awesome natural wonders to be amazed by and also offers a lot to those who are into city trips or traveling around.
Iowa
With historic colonies, water parks, outdoor adventures, and more, Iowa is an ideal destination for your next family vacation. There are no shortage of water and amusement parks in the state or if you prefer to spend your time outside doing a different activity, consider Iowa's unique agri-tourism, historical sites, or outdoor activities. Kentucky

Feel the rush of one of the top wooden roller coasters in the world. Visit the Kentucky Horse Park for an up close and personal experience with championship thoroughbreds.
Or, soak up all of the amenities -- nightlife, spas, theater and art -- of Kentucky’s major cities.
Maine
The state of Maine is larger than all the other states in New England combined. Because of Maine's size, there are many unique regions . Touring the entire state could take a year, so it is smart to plan where you visit. Maine has so much to offer, from classic fishing villages like Boothbay Harbor and quaint oceanside towns like Kennebunkport, to historic Castine or a New England city setting like Portland. If you are looking for some of the best beaches, the Southern Maine Coast is your best bet. If you're looking for an intimate getaway, try a B&B in one of the many charming historic towns further north like Camden. Why not experience both? Plan a journey along the coast and stop in some of our favorite places to visit in Maine.
Massachusetts
Art, music, colonial history, patriotic landmarks, shopping, idyllic beaches, laid-back islands, succulent seafood - Massachusetts has something for everyone. Take your pick from tourist attractions that range from classical music concerts by a world-class symphony orchestra to perfecting your tan on a pristine beach. As one of the original 13 colonies, Massachusetts has preserved more than its share of historic landmarks from as far back as pilgrim days. But it's not all history -- in Boston's vibrant Faneuil Hall Marketplace, you'll find fashions as new as tomorrow. Landscapes are just as varied, and as you explore these must-see sights, you'll find rolling mountains, waves crashing on rocky shores, green pastures and farmlands, deep forests, and beautiful little post-card-perfect villages that Norman Rockwell immortalized in his paintings.
Minnesota
Minnesota offers an endless array of things to do on vacation. Outdoor pursuits include fishing and boating, great golf, and some of the country’s best bike trails. There are excellent museums of all types, and options for live theater abound. Numerous wineries, breweries and distilleries are open for tours and tastings. And shopping is always nearby, including Mall of America, the state’s most-visited attraction.
Missouri
Missouri is nicknamed ‘The Show Me State’ and sure has a lot to show to its visitors (and locals). Impressive nature, some awesome cities, interesting museums and much more.
Nebraska
Long overlooked as a travel destination, Nebraska is a state of warm-hearted people, interesting natural attractions, and inviting cities. Lincoln, the state capitol, and Omaha are the two main population centers. Each of these are worth a visit, with old historic areas to wander through and vibrant cultural scenes to enjoy. The Nebraska landscape also holds some fascinating attractions for those who take the time to explore it, from Chimney Rock to the beautiful scenery of the Sandhills.
New Hampshire
From its 18 miles of seacoast - the shortest of any coastal state in the US - to the summit of the Northeast's highest peak, New Hampshire packs plenty of variety into an easy-to-reach area. The attractions that draw tourists to this part of New England include beautiful ocean and lake beaches, miles of kayaking waters, above-timberline hiking on the Appalachian Trail, sailing on mountain-ringed lakes, fun-filled theme and water parks for kids, exciting rides to mountaintops, and tours of historic houses. So whether it's challenging hikes, sailing, foliage viewing, tax-free shopping, skiing, covered bridges, or colonial history, you'll find it - and plenty more - in New Hampshire.
New Mexico
Boasting one of most incredibly scenic and diverse landscapes in North America, New Mexico offers endless opportunities for exploration and adventure. With strong influences of both Native American and Hispanic culture, the state offers the visitor a multitude of unique attractions both in large cities like Santa Fe and Albuquerque as well as the smaller hubs of UFO-focused Roswell and the artists' colony of Taos.
Center of the American Southwest, the "Land of Enchantment" didn't gain statehood until 1912. Today, New Mexico offers the visitor fantastic nature experiences, distinctive cuisine, and an impressive fine arts scene.
North Carolina
With museums, outdoor activities, and theme parks on offer, there are plenty of things to do in North Carolina no matter what the season. Mountains in the High Country provide opportunities for great skiing and tubing during the winter months, hiking during the warm months, and amazing foliage in fall. Beaches and coastal attractions tempt with a relaxing weekend throughout the year. And the entire state has a history all its own, from the famous flying Wright Brothers to the expansive Biltmore Estate and WWII-era Battleship North Carolina.
Oregon
On the Pacific Ocean north of California and south of Washington, Oregon is a lush and slightly wild state offering many scenic tourist attractions. US 101 runs along the coast, a holiday paradise par excellence with resorts, beaches, and parks. At the northernmost point, the coast meets the mouth of the Columbia River, which marks the state's northern border. This major river leads inland, paralleled by a scenic route passing plummeting waterfalls.
In addition to its natural beauty, Oregon is equally known for its urban charms. Portland in particular has an international reputation for offbeat culture having adopted and embraced the slogan, "Keep Portland Weird." The state's largest city, Portland's sightseeing gems range from rose gardens to art museums and an immense bookshop. Further south, Eugene is a thriving university town, Newport is a favorite beach resort, and the Capitol is in Salem.
Alaska
As Alaska is big, so too is its beauty. A vast, uninhabited wilderness overwhelms the comparatively small cities in the state, such as commercial-minded Anchorage and tucked away Juneau (a curious state capital with no road access). This natural beauty can be enjoyed while hiking, paddling, and fishing in the great outdoors, especially as the state and national parks here are some of the largest in the United States.
Though there are a number of museums and other tourist attractions in the major centers, towns are perhaps more accurately used as jumping-off points for exploring the Alaskan wilds such as Denali and Kenai Fjords national parks. But wherever your sightseeing may take you, the scale of Alaska is sure to impress.
Arkansas
Arkansas, also know as “The Natural State” or formerly “The Land of Opportunity”, offers some of the most beautiful and spectacular sights and places to visit! When you hear the word Idaho you probably think about potatoes right away. Idaho is indeed known as the Potato State of America owing to the fact that it is the country's biggest supplier of potatoes. Aside from potatoes however, there are so many things to explore and enjoy in Idaho.
Indiana
Indiana, or the Hoosier State, is in the Midwest, offering access to the Great Lakes and the attractions related to them. Visitors can pick from cultural attractions, museums, music, sports, the outdoors, shopping, and more when they go to Indiana. The highlight of the state is its capital, Indianapolis, where you will find the most museums and events, but don't be afraid to venture outside of the city to get some fresh air and enjoy the natural beauty of Indiana. As the Crossroads of America, it is easy to get to Indiana and once you do, you'll be entertained for weeks, whether you choose to visit casinos, wineries, festivals, museums, or national parks.

In one day you can enjoy wonderful scenery and outdoor activities as well as visit museums, historic sites and cultural events.
When we say Maryland’s got it all, we do mean all—our list of top attractions include diverse terrain and natural splendors; naval and space facilities; museums and historic sites; wild horses and gardens; theme parks and casinos; music and film; sports and resorts; eclectic shopping and cutting-edge dining. Pick one of these top things to see and do—or see how many you can do all in one trip.
Michigan
Michigan lies in the Great Lakes Region of the US and is also nicknamed, The Great Lake(s) State, The Wolverine State, The Mitten State and Water (Winter) Wonderland. Although Detroit is it’s largest city, the capital is Lansing. Michigan offers a lot to its visitors and there’s some stunning nature to be admired.
Mississippi
Mississippi, know also as “The Magnolia State” and “The Hospitality State”, offers some of the most beautiful and spectacular sights and places to visit! Just browse through these awesome pictures and be amazed by it’s beauty. Ps: Did you know the world’s largest shrimp is on display at the Old Spanish Fort Museum in Pascagoula?
Montana
One of the most northerly of the US states - and possessing one of the country's longest stretches of border with its northerly neighbor, Canada - Montana is well-known for its numerous outdoor activities, including an array of winter sports; water sports such as fishing, canoeing, and kayaking; as well as hiking and biking. Often referred to as Big Sky Country, its spectacular, rugged scenery and plentiful wildlife, particularly around the Rocky Mountains in the west, is also popular for scenic drives and activities such as bird watching (the state's very name suggests a strong connection to nature, and is taken from the Spanish for mountain: montaña). Although the fourth largest state, it's one of the least populated, ensuring plenty of wide-open space to explore outside of its larger cities, such as the capital, Helena. In addition to the Rockies, Montana is also the perfect place from which to explore magnificent Yellowstone National Park (although largely in the State of Wyoming, Yellowstone can be accessed from the North and Northeast Entrances in southern Montana).
Nevada
Nevada's amazing landscapes are often overshadowed by the glitter and glitz of its biggest city, Las Vegas, with its famous Strip. While The Strip is surely a sight to see, Nevada is a state of incredible natural diversity with plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and even skiing. Be sure to get out of the city and get lost in Nevada's stunning wilderness areas as you enjoy all the amazing attractions the state has to offer.
New Jersey
Although one of the smallest US states, New Jersey is home to many first-rate tourist attractions. From national parks and areas of outstanding natural beauty to fine museums and historical sites, New Jersey is a state that is well worth taking time to explore. A good place to start is along the state's Atlantic Coast, using any one of its quaint harbor towns or resorts - even the entertainment Mecca of Atlantic City - as a jumping off point. It's also a good base from which to explore New York, with excellent public transit and accommodation options.
New York
One of the greatest cities in the world, New York is always a whirlwind of activity, with famous sites at every turn and never enough time to see them all. The vacation possibilities in this city are endless. Some people come here to enjoy the Broadway Shows, others come specifically to shop, and many come simply to see the sights; the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, the Brooklyn Bridge, Central Park, the historic neighborhoods, and the multiple world famous museums. Any time of year and any time of day there is an endless array of things to see and do in New York.
Oklahoma
Oklahoma is an authentic gateway to the west - a land of red dirt where buffalo roam the plains and oil rigs pump riches. But the largest cities, Oklahoma City and Tulsa, also have a distinctly refined air, having been built on the proceeds of an early-1900s oil boom. Modern museums, galleries of international art, and lavish gardens all give the state a more cosmopolitan edge, but many tourists choose to experience Oklahoma with the simple pleasures of a road trip, and no highway is more iconic than the state's stretch of Route 66.
Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania, The Keystone State, has some truly awesome places to visit and see! There’s beautiful nature to be admired and many cool towns and larger cities to explore.
